The book is well ahead of its time.
But, these concepts are not very practical. One suspects that Sturgis would have liked to make his "hero" homosexual as he himself was, but doing so, of course, would have rendered the novel unpublishable. Unfortunately, there is nothing much could be done when his son ends up getting betrothed to someone he could not tolerate. Nothing like some good, elaborate, and well written WW2 alt-hist for a nice evening of reading!. This book gave me the basic knowledge I needed for the divorce process. From sinner to savior of the orphans of East Africa.. definitely worth the two bucks. i.e. How many times have anyone of us tried to follow directions for an activity or attempted a recipe, only to see that maybe a direction or two was not exactly what we interpreted it to be.
Enjoy the video, read the book, and try to loosen up those rigid bones and laugh your way through whatever it is you're doing, that is, most activities. I found the story
