I love books like these that are a variation on classic tales and this is a good one for Jack and the Beanstalk. Bearzi's touching memoir of her scientific work is mostly about dolphins, but there's a great deal more here. I found it too gross and hard to enjoy the greatness of his lines or used of oil. Amazon reviews for the last two books had suggested that the series was running out of ideas but I disagreed and actually thought the previous two volumes were the best yet. Quickly having him change his priorities and finding a much needed balance in his life. Donaldson has been called the best pure writer of fantasy, and I have to agree.
