E.A. Wallis Budge (1857-1934) was the Curator of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum from 1894 to 1924. Best known for his numerous translator works, Budge collected a large number of Coptic, Greek, Arabic, Syriac, Ethiopian, and Egyptian Papyri manuscripts. Budge was knighted in 1920.

For someone who is ignorant of the subject and wants a solid grounding in it, the book's brevity and many omissions also cause it to be of little value. I recommend owning both books, but if money is an issue, skip the first one, get the second one, and save up for a hopefully soon forthcoming third.. The texture looks like they could have been made with regular flour instead brown rice flour, sorghum, and flaxmeal! I've been baking gluten-free breads and muffins for a year since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I have had the most success when using the Washburn & Butt cookbooks. In spite of this you should still buy it.. But I have never seen a jam/jelly book with recipes for alcohol based spreads. Highly recommended to anyone who felt, at any time in their life, that they are not living their life
