Since the adoption of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), teachers have been scrambling to find quality teaching materials and legitimate resources that are straightforward and effective in providing help and guidance. Laminated checklists that regurgitate standards, found in a simple Internet search, are no more helpful to teachers than ambiguous I can posters are at reflecting what students actually know and can accomplish. Students urgently need greater exposure to instruction aligned with Common Core requirements, as well as practice in deciphering, interpreting, discussing, and responding to suitable and relevant lessons, activities, and practice assessments attuned to the rigor and demands they will encounter in standardized Common Core assessments.
