They catch each others attention one day, and there are definite sparks that fly. In fact, he sees himself as married to his fields which is so very telling. This book is not just for runners, but for women who have experienced divorce, health scares, depression, grief, teenagers, heck this book is for everyone. I don't mind a cliff-hanger that 1) wraps up the action set into motion in that book, bringing that segment of the overall series to a conclusion while 2) leaving you dangling at the start of a new cycle of actions that sets the stage for the next book.
